Giants: Popular in small villages where there are no theatres. Way to keep people together/entertained.
-Getting harder to recruit new members, not because of the tradition, because there are more activities to choose from. So tradition has to evolve w/ social change.
?When did you start your tradition? Are kids involved? Recruiting?  
Giants: Started off seeing giants at festival. Do go to schools to educate about tradition.
Devils: Children are involved sometimes handling fire at 8 years old. Adults/parents supervise. Discussion of fireworks: comparison to American
Towers: Open to all ages. Must have interest and be in good condition physically. Socialization into towers: Parent-child bonding; meeting people.

-Local/regional governments / Member dues
-Parties/fundraising for associations sponsorships 
'Federation for human towers' provides insurance
Towers: Not allowed to place sponsorships on uniforms

cirque du soleil/relationship to 'Professional' groups.
No one gets paid, everyone can join.

Giants: No membership rules but ask members to pay part of cost for uniforms. So they value it more. 

In Devil tradition it used to be an extravagant display of wealth: You were so rich you can literally burn money.
