1. Clapping to start. Katya started carving when she was 7 years old.
2. Her carving style changed with time. The stories changed.
3. "Mate" means gourd. Borillaura represents the way they carve
4. The gourds. When they were young, the didn't go to Lima or other big places. They used their imagnation to help form their work.
5. Blanca learned from her father. Blanca feels committed to it.
6. The gourd making is their full time job.
7. Blanca's stories are based in real life stories of the children.
8. She's working on a giant gourd back home [[strikethrough]] by [[/strikethrough]] that tells the story of a boy who walks to Lima and has fantastical and real experiences throughout. It's based on the elder's experiences as a young man. The journey is portrayed in story board fashion. She is halfway done with the project.
