In big marathons, we have to start slowly for 3-4 miles because it's to crowded. They run marathons in 2 1/2 hours, 10k in 30 min, 5k in 15.
Q: Why are Kenyans so great at running? A: Joseph - altitude & training - all the kids are running all day. Good food, healthy.
Q: What motivates you to break records?
A: can train at any altitude close to 5 km. Many people trained before, so progress better. You must work hard to represent country.
Q: typical training day? Fortnite race. A. For 1/2 marathon because you can as many in a year. Fall - only 2-3/yr. training varies over year. 3 days of long runs every week. Gym the rest. 100 mi/week.
Q: How to protect from injury A.(Joseph) 10 min warming up, 15 min stretching. Look for best shoes that fit you. Different shoes for different training.
