Dear Sir:-

Replying to yours of the 3d regarding shipment for F. J. Hecker. Beg to inform you that this came by the Steamer "La Normandie", which steamer as you may be aware was on fire on sea, and a General Average charge was exacted on each shipment; this shipment in question was valued at $4,300. and a General Average charge of 5% on that amount makes the $215.00 advance charges.
