| This voucher made to pay Syed Bahadur Shah balance due him for engraved stones, by reason of error made in voucher No. 9 April 1897, in figuring the equivalent of a rupee as 22,1/2c instead of 32c.    The amount of voucher No. 9 April 1897 was $50.00 and supposed to be the equivalent of R.222 whereas the amount paid to Syed Bahadur Shah by the bank of Bengal was R.164-10-1 leaving a balance due him of 57 Rupees, 5 Annas, 11 Pice at 32c per rupee | 18 35 |

The money order issued by the American Express Co. against the check accompanying this voucher was forwarded by them to their New York Office to be refowarded to the Bank of Bengal in its equivalent in Pounds, Shill. & Pence, (3 Pounds-15 Shill), Mr. Freer advising payee that this amount will be paid to him by above Bank on demand. See copy of Mr. Freer's letter attached hereto.
