TELEPHONE: 1317 CORTLANDT.
NEW YORK, Sept 19th.1898

C. L. Freer Esq.
33 Ferry Ave.
New York City

My dear Mr. Freer:
Your favor of the 17th at hand and contents noted. In view[?] of the number of things that you have purchased, I have decided to accept your offer - of eight hundred dollars for the Kobayashi and Fenollosa [[?]] selected.

I cannot tell when the goods will be returned, but I think that I will be in a position to do so by the early part of October. If possible I will hold the books for you.

I have not been able to get the Fenollosa kakemono released as yet as Mrs Fenollosa is coming to New York to close up the whole matter. I expect to be able to send them to you this week.

I don't think that I could get you an intelligent list of the pottery. I spoke of as the fellow who has it, does not seem to know very much about it. He simply says they are very old pieces and they look all right to me. I think you will find it profitable to look over them.

With best regards
I am your very truly
