Ca., and knowing schools at present which are in need of assistance  Cites those taught in bush arbor, and prefers to recommend $100 for sash & Doors for a log house which the freedpeople can build, rather than an expenditure of this kind. |

It is suggested that Col Seely advise the Trustees to insure the Building when constructed. | St Louis Mo Oct 6th 1869 Forwards application of Isaac Donnican & others Trustees of the A.M.E. Church at Carondelet Mo for aid to the amount of $1200. or $1500. to rebuild their school building which was destroyed by fire about the 4th inst and for which there was an apptn. made of $1000. about a year ago. States that the building was about completed & that it was a very creditable one to both the people & to the town, that the people are very anxious to rebuild, and he earnestly recommends their application to the favorable consideration of the Commissioner. |

Says there is great need of a school house at the place, the nearest one being eight miles away. |
