Sir.
Your Communication of 21st May addressed to Capt Walbridge A.S.A. Commr at Atlanta and refered to this office, has been laid before the Asst Commr, who directs me to say that he has ordered two soldiers to sent to Campbellton, to report to you. and directs that you arrest Green B Sucky, who has been perpetrating outrages on freedpeople, and turn him over to the Civil authorities for trial for these outrages. You will also have a suit commenced in the Civil Courts, against said Suckey, for the amount due Cyrus Thompson (freedman). You will have Sucky bound over to keep the peace towards you and report the action taken by the Civil authorities in the matter.

The Asst Commr desires the State authorities to take cognizance of all such outrages, and if they do not after opportunity has been afforded them for so doing, other means will be taken to secure justice to the freedpeople, as required by the laws of the State.

Your reasonable expenses for attending to this matter will be paid at this office.
