Your communication has been received, and I am directed by the Asst Comr to say that if you have any means of proving to the magistrate that the case in question was tried and settled last November in the Freedmens Court, you will bring this proof before the Magistrate, and notify him that further action in this case must be stopped, and the $6 25/100. costs refunded to the freedman, Miller. The original papers in the case are not absolutely necessary, provided it can be proven that the affair was tried and settled by authority of the Bureau, [[?]] the issuing of Cir No 4. current series (April 67) from this Office. In case of the refusal of the Magistrate to comply with the above order, you will, without delay, report such fact to this Office.
