Your communication of July 20th is received, and the Asst Commr directs me to say in reply that as soon as stores can be got here - you will be supplied with what you require. there are none here at present but more are expected in a few days

Please write at once stating the number of people who are actually suffering for want of food - also giving directions how to ship them.
