Sir:
Anthony and George (freedpeople) make complaint to the effect that Thos Fleming Esqr, the party with whom they have contracted to work this year, is attempting to defraud them of their share of the crops (1/3) in saying that they and their families have consumed in provisions furnished by him (Fleming) more than 1/3 of the value of the crops, that has been raised, and that he will furnish them no more provisions nor will he allow them any further claim or interest in the crops.  Such assertion, if it has been made, on the part of this man Fleming is evidently a mere subterfuge to avoid the payment of a just debt.  By direction of the Asst Com'r you will summons these parties before you and decide the case in accordance
