Captain

By directions of the Asst Command I enclose a letter this day received from T W White Agent of the Bureau at Milledgeville, and request that you send him a few rations, and that you visit Milledgeville and inform yourself of the state of destruction existing there.

If any of the freed people are sick and unable to take care of themselves, you will have them removed to the hospital at Macon. Transportation will be furnished for this purpose from this office, upon your application. I also enclose a letter from Genl Howard by which you will see that it is desired to reduce the issue of rations as much as possible, and that none will be issued except in extreme cases.
