Your communication of 24th inst has been received The Asst Com'r directed me to say that as Agent of the Bureau you have jurisdiction in all cases not exceeding $30.00. It is fervently desired where the Civil Authorities are prepared and willing to grant justice to all alike irrespective of Color, that all cases wherein Free persons are party, whether of minor importance or otherwise be brought before these for adjudication.
Your account for expenses incurred in the transportation of rations has been referred to Capt C G Watson AGM for Settlement. If you will forward to Capt Watson your account for time occupied in the distribution of rations, giving the number of days you were employed and the dates thereof, it will be paid at the same rate as similar accounts from other Agents.
