Personally appeared before the undersigned John Barclay & being duly sworn says that he is agent of the Inferior court of Whitfield county for the distribution of provisions to the destitute in said county and that as such agent he delivered to John P. Potts about the 1st of April 1867 two hundred & fifty pounds corn; and between the 16 April & 1st May 1867 deponent gave him one hundred & fifty pounds more corn. 

Deponent further states that G.W. Selvidge & his clerk Henry L. Sims Junr. frequently applied to deponent to learn whether persons applying to him for rations had drawn from deponent or not & in one instance he stopped some corn already weighed to one who had denied drawing from deponent but had in fact done so - swearing to to take pains to do justice both to
