35. July 1st in Terrell County, Balewick Durigan was killed with an axe, cause unknown, by M. Moses col'd, arrested and tried by the civil authorities and sentenced to the penitentiary.

36. July 4th in Baker Co. an unknown colored man was dangerously wounded by pistol shot, without provocation by Jack Smith, white; cause unknown, action by the civil authorities (if any) unknown.

37. July 10th in Stewart County, Abraham Colman shot at and wounded, without provocation, by Jno M. Cain, white. No arrest. Assailant at large in Steward Co.

38. July 17th in Stewart Co. Anderson Pearson was shot at and wounded & cut, without provocation by Wm. Austeen, white. No arrest. Assailant at large in Lumpkin Stewart Co.

39. July 27th in Dougherty Co. Ann Hampton beaten with a heavy stick by Janus Hall, white, for having made statements before the Agent of the Bureau contrary to his own. Warrant issued by Civil Authorities at the instance of the Bureau, but no arrest made. Hall having left Albany for his home in Baker County.

40. July 29th in Early Co. Jeff Smith was shot at and wounded & badly beaten (saved his life only by the interference of a friend) without provocation by Lou Garner, white; no arrest Garner at large in Early Co.
