Gentlemen:--
I have shipped to-day, cosigned to you, via American Express, charges prepaid, a box containing two Japanese screens and one Kakemono (hanging picture). These goods are intended for the Hon. Thomas S. Jerome, U.S. Consul, Capri, Italy. On receipt of the box, will you kindly attend to Custom clearances, after which send the box, together with memorandum of any charges, to Mr. Jerome at Capri. The contents are some of Mr. Jerome's household goods, which are shipped from his residence in Detroit to that [strikethrough] of [/strikethrough][handwritten]in[/handwritten] in Capri, and I enclose herewith copy of the invoice which accompanied the shipment. The box is marked "E. G. Vickers & Company, 7 Via Vittoria, Naples, Italy, T. S. J. No. 1.".
The American Express Company will advise me early next week of date of sailing and name of steamer carrying this shipment, when I in turn shall be pleased to give you this information.
