Detroit, Michigan,
August 19th, 1901.

Messrs. Proctor & Company,
#144 Fifth Avenue,
New York City.

Gentlemen:--
I am sending to your address to-day, by American Express, a package containing a pair of curtains, which I have found impossible to have well cleaned here. Knowing that you have an excellent cleaner, I have taken the liberty of sending these to you, hoping that you will have them properly cleaned for me. Should the colour become lighter in cleaning, please have them dyed a very pale green, after which be good enough to return them to me, together with bill, to #33 Ferry Avenue, Detroit, Michigan, and oblige,

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer
