I deem it not improper to say to you, confidentially, that the wishes of Messrs. Whistler, Dewing and Tryon harmonize entirely with my own concerning the further travels of my pictures for the present.

You are very kind to offer me the hospitality of your office, and I shall certainly take pleasure in looking you up when I visit the great show. Surely, a building painted in the colours described by yourself could never escape my observation.

The continued warm weather, together with the dreadful occurrence on your ground yesterday, thwarts my intended early visit, and I shall wait for less exciting times and cooler weather. Sometime, the latter part of this month or early in October, I will appear at your "pink door", when I hope to find you enjoying the benefits of a delightful vacation.
