Thomas R. Lewis, Esq.,
Rothbury, Mich.
Dear Sir:--
Your letter of October 24th is received and noted. In addressing me on the subject of Japanese marks, I think you found the person mentioned by my friend, Mr. Gookin of Chicago. I beg to say, however, that my interest in Japanese Art centers in pottery, paintings and prints. I do not collect netsuke or other miscellaneous Japanese art objects. Hence, it would not be to your advantage to send the specimens named.
Yours very truly,
Charles L Freer
