Miss. Inouye, the Japanese lady about whom I have spoken to you, came to my home on Monday last, and remained four days. She made several translations for me, including the Makemono by Koyetou. The sentiment expressed in the latter is very beautiful, and harmonizes with the painting. Miss. Inouye leaves Ann Arbor to-day for Japan.

Hoping you are very well, and trusting to have the pleasure of seeing you here ere long, I remain,

Yours very truly,
Charles L. Freer.
