Detroit Michigan,
January 3rd, 1902.

My dear Mr. Bixby:-

I was both surprised and delighted to receive, along with other delightful holiday reminders, the beautiful Chinese kakemono, accompanied by your card. It is one I greatly admired when I saw it in New York, and I shall give it a high place in my group of kakemono, where it will remain as another token of your goodness.

With warm appreciation of the generous spirit which prompted the gift, and wishing you and yours a very happy and prosperous year, I remain,

Faithfully yours,
