Dear Sir:--

Your letter of August 29th was received and fully noted. In reply thereto, I beg to say that I have gathered thirty-two of the original drawings of the one hundred poets by Hokusai, but, of course, as many of them have been destroyed, I have no expectation of adding many more to my little group. Furthermore, the price you ask for the drawing, twenty pounds, puts it quite beyond my views as to value.

Thanking you for having written me about it, I remain,

Yours very sincerely,
Charles L. Freer
