Mr. C. L. Freer,

Detroit, Mich.

Dear Sir:—

Yours of the 20th inst to hand and in reply we are very sorry to hear of the news of this fine piece of pottery being broken. It was packed by one of our young men and we especially asked him to be very careful with that piece but it has occurred we certainly can not help it. If you would like to keep it you may do so and we will not charge you for it. We also ship you by express prepaid, three bowls and one box. (No. 1) very old shidoro bowl signed $25.00, (No. 2) next oldest $18.00 and (No. 3) another at $18.00 (No. 4) an old banko box shape of bird with a pistash green glaze at $12.00

We hope you will examine these pieces very carefully at your convenience, and return them if you do not desire to keep them, at our expense. We remain,

Yours very truly,
