Dear Sir

Unfortunately the Pastel just missed last weeks steamer but has gone by this & you have been duly advised. I thought I had named the price of the Pastel.

It is £200 Slg

I bought it from Mr Whistler 10 years ago & it has been hanging in my own house ever since. Perhaps the subject might not please everyone but from the little conversation I had with you I consider you have got beyond the question of mere subject.

Awaiting the pleasure of hearing from you when you have seen the pastel.
