I have the honor to request information, in behalf of Frances Bell a freedwoman, of her children Antony, Emily & Anica who when last heard from, were with James and Robert Bell planters of Davidson County, near Saulisbury, North Carolina.
Their mother feels great anxiety about their welfare and desires to learn their whereabouts in order that she may correspond with them.
I have also the honor to request that this communication may be forwarded through this Bureau to North Carolina & enquiry be made in the various counties regarding the above children or to any point where any trace of their having been may be learned, and that the information be transmitted to this office together with this communication.

I have the honor to transmit herewith the affidavit of freedman Charles Beard, showing that the Estate of Charles Fort, late of Pickens County, Alabama, deceased is owing him One Hundred and Thirty five ($135.) dollars, that he presented the note for the same to Lemuel Fort Administrator &c for payment and that he destroyed the same and refused payment.
I have also the honor to request that the accompanying affidavit and this communication may be forwarded to the Asst Commr. of Alabama for action in the premises. Charles Beard now resides upon the plantation of Mr Nathan, Coal Fire Creek, Pickens Co. Ala.
