Freedmen Fayette Alfred & Boston, cannot understand the cause of your intiference in regard to their portion of the crop. I presume however that you have become security for the amount of their debt to Capt Lea. I would however call your attention to Genl Order No 19. Head Quarters 4th Military District, which prevents your removal of their portion of the crop, and enjoin upon you a strict compliance therewith. An arrangement can be made with Capt Lea, through Major Eldridge, Sub Asst Commr at Aberdeen to secure Capt Lea's debt and release you. After the freedmens portion of the crop is ascertained, they have the sole right of its disposal, and you are hereby directed not to intifere with it. If I misunderstand this case I should be happy to be corrected, however the instructions above must be complied with until revoked by this office. Wm. K. White Agent Bu R.F. & A.L.
