Sir,
The Asst Commissioner directs that the enclosed Warrant be returned over to the Sheriff after being Signed by the J.P. on the back, as indicated, and [[?ember the man mentioned, be arrested and sent to this City for trial. A reward of ($50.) dollars will be paid by these Headquarters on the arrival of the prisoner here, to the person bringing him.
Further this matter all you can, and assist the Officers of the Civil Courts all in you power.
The enclosed telegram will explain

Subscribe to the enclosed Oath before the proper officer and return it with acknowledgement of the receipt of the appointment &c.

General orders, Circulars &c were sent to you by today's mail, you will carefully study all of them and your attention is especially invited to Circular No 5 Series of 1867, from War Dept. Bu. R.F. R. Washington D.C. and Govt orders No 5, 1967 and Circular Letter of Dec 31st/66 from these Headquarters, full and detailed reports are required in accordance with the orders &c. above specified

Sir,
I am directed by the asst Comr to acknowledge the receipt of your communication of the 23rd Inft, stating that the parties having in charge the construction of a school house at Columbus, did not feel warranted in proceeding with the same unless they had a promise that a teacher would be sent.
I am also directed to state that a teacher will be sent to Columbus early next week, and hope that everything will be ready to commence School immediately upon her arrival.
