I make this interogatory as a communication has been received this day from Maj Gen Howard commissioner, asking that he be made an Agent of the Bureau in this State. I am Col. Sir, The asst Comr directs, that at your earliest convenience you ascertain the ages of "John [[Westley? Westlay?]]" and "[[strikethrough]] Horace [[/strikethrough]] "Florence" children of Lucinda Casey (f W) supposed to be living 2 miles out of the Village of Victoria. Transportation orders will be furnished Lucinda Casey and children (two) from Victoria to Elizabeth City N.C. to go to her husband as soon as the ages of the children can be ascertained.
