Brenham, Texas, Sir, I am informed by Capt Edward Collins 17 U.S. Inf. that you desire the appointment as an Agent of this Bureau and that you be assigned to duty at Brenham. Judge Wood has been appointed for that plan. but in case you accept an appointment and be assigned to duty at Cotton Gin, Firsthand County, it will be given you. The salary will be one hundred dollars per month - your time being wholly devoted to Bureau business.
