General:
I have the honor to forward herewith the deed for a piece of property sold to the city of San Antonio. This deed would have been forwarded long since, in compliance with instructions from the office of the Commissioner &c, but for the fact that it was returned from San Antonio only a few days since. The deed has been recorded, and to make the chain of record little complete it is respectfully suggested that the new deed refer to the one which is already recorded.

I also enclose a written form of deed, which is requested by the mayor of San Antonio in order to protect this property against seizure for debts due from the City of San Antonio. No such conditions were named when the property was sold, but I forward the latter paper at the request of the representative of the City of San Antonio.

I recommend that the request be not favorably considered.

I am, General, Very Respectfully,
Your Obdt. Servant.
