Sir:
I have the honor to request you to obtain from Bvt. Lieut. Col. Geo. H. Cram, Capt. 17th U.S. Inft. the records (books) of his office as Sub Asst. Commissioner, and that the same be sent to this office with the stationery ordered from Mr. H. Hinck. Col. Cram has sent the letters which were filed in his office for which a receipt has been given, but the record books - "Letters Received," "Letters Sent," "Book of Cases Tried" &c. - have not been received.
