That the teachers of Freedmens Schools now employed by the Bureau and paid under the provisions of Circular No.2 Dated Headquarters B.R.F.& A,L. Galveston Texas Feb. 7th 1867 may receive the aid offered by Benevolent Associations. Thereby reducing the expense to the Gov't, the Asst. Com'r has requested that all teachers who can meet the requirements of the American Missionary Association, should receive its Commission and be taken upon its rolls.

This request I am assured by the Sect. will be cheerfully complied with. That this result may be reached at once I would respectfully recommend that a circular be issued by the Asst. Comr. requesting such teachers to apply at once for Commissions.

All applications addressed to the Asst. Supt. of Schools will receive prompt attention.

Very Respectfully
