Office Superintendent of Schools,
Bureau R., F. and A.L.,
Galveston, Texas, April 8th 1867.

Lieu G. T. Kirkman
Supt. Schools B.R.F. & A.L.

Lieu.

In compliance with P.V. Special Order No. 16. Dated Headquarters Bureau R.F. and A.L. State of Texas. March 8th 1867. I proceeded to Harrisburg, Richmond Columbus, Alleyton, La grange. Bastrop, Austin, San Antonio, Seguin, Gonzales Clinton, Victoria, Lavaca & Indianola, and have the honor to submit the following report.
At Harrisburg, Wm. Reynolds whom I examined and found sufficiently well qualified to teach, has 28 scholars enrolled, teaches in his own house, and is receiving $20.00 per month from the Bureau. With better accomodations his school would be increased. The freedmen have a church, which, if seated, would accomodate all the scholars in Harrisburg.
