One Hundred Dollars I think would seal the building and furnish the bureau with sufficient school accommodations for the town. I think Mr Reynolds would be acceptable to the freedmen, as a teacher, and as well.

At Richmond is one school of 95 scholars taught by Geo C. Booth who relieved Mr Douglas (Colored). Should the school continue as large as at present I would recommend that Mr Douglas be employed as an assistant as Mr Booth can not well do justice to so large a school. The school is taught in a freedmens church.

At Alleyton there was no school. While there, arrangements were made for a building and board procured for a teacher. Alleyton being the present terminus of the R.R. there is sufficient population to support a good school. The freedpeople are anxious to erect a building, have a lot secured which will soon be paid for and with some aid from the bureau they would be able
