Colonel:

I have the honor to report myself still at Houston.

The reason are as follows: I went to Millican on the 14th inst. I should have stopped at Navasota at which place I could have taken the stage to Crockett but as I was directed by every one to go to Millican I missed the stage which only starts from Navasota on Monday and Wednesday evenings of each week. On the 15th inst I obtained a special conveyance at a most ruinous price from Millican to Crockett but a swollen creek stopped me five miles from M.

I then turned back
