Personally appeared before me the undersigned authority Randal Brooks and makes affidavit respecting the conduct of one J. L. Dial as follows 

That he the said J.L. Dial held against her will and fals imprisoned on or about the 11th day of April 1866 one [[Ferroby?]] and her children, by refusing to permit or allow them to leave his premesis, and that on said day aforesaid said Randel Brooks (freed boy) went to the premesis of said J.L. Dial, with a wagon for the purpose of moving said Ferroby & family, but that he was driven from the premesis by said Dial with threats of bodily harm, all of which is against the peace and dignity of the United States, wherefore deponant prays that he the said Dial be arrested and delt with according to law
