I received your letter dated Sept 16th in regard to a note against one Furman, and I would state that Furman is not home now. he left for New Orleans about a month ago, and if he was here the note would be perfectly worthless. as he is a man of very low carricter and never known to pay his debts. he followed the ocupation of Gambling while at this place any thing further I can do for you here I would
