Dear Sir:
I have this day forwarded to General Kiddoo at Galveston The order of Genl Howard for the removal of the shanties occupied as negro hospital on your premises in Houston. The order reads about thus "Restore the Property: remove the buildings put up by the rebel authorities and carefully provide for the freed people elsewhere.  He is also authorized to use or sell the buildings as he may see fit."

I think you will have no further trouble about the matter. Capt Porter the officer in charge of Freedmen at Houston, is a business man and a gentleman, and has always regretted the Official necessity he was under of being a party to your inconvenience.
