my perspective and drew in and painted the carpet and corrected it generally. Hope to finish it now so as to go at my Academy picture. Dined at Marys. She and Calvert dined out. After dinner Sara and I went to a concert to hear Miss Isabella Brush sing. Am sorry to say I was disappointed. Her voice was not pleasant, her bearing was unquiet and conventional and in her dress she took no advantage of her youth and beauty. Her dress was too low for a girl and I cant believe she will ever achieve any lasting success. Mrs. Dyer & Mrs. Bruce were there. Girard was at Marys where we got back. I had promised to take Alice up to Dr. Hollands reception so I got a carriage and went over to Mr. Stickneys in 12" St for her. We had a delightful evening and I saw all our old friends. I invited Annie and Katie Holland to come and lunch with Alice at my room on friday and Alice is to invite Bella Burch I would like to give the young people a pleasant time and they enjoy such things so much. Wrote to Gertrude before I went to bed.

Tuesday 3. My father and Mother came down Today. I dined with them at Marys and in the evening we all went to see Sara receive her diploma and her degree as Doctor of Medi
