I Mrs. Mary Duffy, do solemnly swear that I am the wife of Patrick Duffy, late a soldier of Shermans Army, and now living at San Antonio, Texas where I understand he is sick of chills & fever, result of exposure in the service of the U.S. Army during the last war in America.

I have been in America, about two months, was sent for by my husband. I lost all I had on the steamer "Sunny South" burned at sea, &c and this accounts for my destitute condition.
