The Undersigned would most respectfully reccommend William N. Hodge to you as a suitable person to fill the position of Freedman Bureau Agent at this place. Mr. Hodge is well and favorably known in this place and surrounding Country, and we believe him to be well qualified for the position, and we know that his appointment will meet the approbation of those who know him. And for his appointment we will as in duty bound forever pray &c.
