Dear Sir
You will please excuse the freedom of this letter  I will not address you officaly  I merely want a word of advise  the circumstances are as follows  there was a freedman kill here last month by a man by the name of B.B. Lee  he was arrested and tried before the military commission at Houston for some fault or rather he was turned over to the civil authorities  he was tried but no one to prosecute the case on behalf of the Deceased he was acquitted  there is three (3) men that will give evidence that they see him shoot the freedman and I was told
