A CARD
HOUSTON, June 28, 1866.

Editor Telegraph:

HAVING been arraigned before the Freedman's Bureau of this city on a "contract of barter" with a negro man—a forfeiture upon the part of the negro—to get the perishable property at his appointed time, the Agent, in violation of all equity, awarded the claim against me, but adjudged it to be paid in "Specie," refusing to receive the Government "Tender" in payment. Has he any right as a Government Agent to refuse that which the Goveynment [[Government]] declares a "legal tender?"

Will General Kiddoo sustain such acts by his Agent in depreciating the Government funds?
