Head Quarters
Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen & Abandd Lands
Seguin, May 25th, 1866

Adjutant

By the enclosed you will perceive this has been with me a fighting month, and I will forever hereafter allude to it as such I respectfully ask your serious attention to the accompanying documents Strong as they are you will only gather from a faint glimmering of what I have gone through At present all is quiet. - truth and courage have triumphed To morrow I take up my docket, and hope to be able to proceed with some rapidity

The unfortunate withdrawal of my detachment
