I write to you for advice and information in regard to one of my servants. The facts in the case are as follows - Fanny a colored woman belonging to Mrs. M E Lee of Arkansas was married to a colored man named Aaron belonging to Dr. Lomax. The ceremony was performed by a colored man who was a preacher, as the law of the state did not require license none was obtained. They lived together in peace & harmony for more than three years, Fanny being a faithful wife and he very kind to her. she had two children. In Nov 1864 Mrs Lee moved to Texas at that time Aaron said he would hire his own time the next year and follow his wife & children in the early summer of 65 he was set free and in August 1865 he wrote to his wife that he would be certain to come to her in the fall and expressed great anxiety about her & his children several letters passed between them and she has been anxiously expecting her husband ever since about three weeks ago she heard that Aaron had married again.

The above are the facts and when she was told that her husband had proved false she went entirely deranged & was found wandering up & down the
