river bank I brought her home and by the kind attention and best medical skill she is somewhat recovered- she has ever been a devoted and faithful servant of mine, having raised her from a child and of course I feel an unusual interest in her She wants to go to Ark after her husband, believing that his former master has used some influence get him to marry there, so as to keep him from come to Texas, Aaron is a shoemaker and very valuable to master - I am perfectly willing to giver her up if she can get him back and will give her money to help pay her expenses- I want to know "if her marriage with him is legal" Can he marry again lawfully without a divorce- Can he be made to come after her & his children and contribute to their support if so will you write to the Bureau in Ark and have him sent out here for his children - even if he will not have his wife- I refer you to Maj G H Sherwood of Galveston who knows the woman and can give you any information in regard to the correctness of what I've written- You will confer a great favor by writing to me at your earliest convenience and any assistance you can give will be thankfully received
