Col. W.F. Bledsoe of Burleson Co. Tex., who has been appointed administrator, to the estate of Capt. W. T. Richards - who was killed by his partner D. Randall, in Decbr last - called upon me today, stating: that the estate had not yet settled with the freedmen who were employed on the plantation of Randall and Richards, last year. He further states, that the produce of the place, about 500 bu. of corn, 40 fat hogs and 9 bales of cotton, had been seized by Dr. T. Randall, the father of the murderer, and that the cotton had been sold by him, to Simmons and Smith of this place. after further inquiries at Simmons & Smith, I was informed by them, that Randall and Richards were indebted to them, to nearly the amount of the proceeds of the cotton, and that the goods were bought by them, for the freedmen [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] employed at their place, and that Capt. Sloan, the former Agent of the F.M. Bureau, at this place, had given them a written consent, to buy the
