Wharton Tex. Aug 9th/67.

Respectfully returned to Lt. Kirkman A.A.A.G. Bur. R.F. & A.L. I understand that Reason Wallace has gone to Galveston as is stated within. I am therefore unable to obtain the information called for in the foregoing endorsement. I believe that Wallace did not suffer from any other than the common diseases of this county while in this county. Last winter he came to this county from Washington D.C. & consequently was not accustomed to this climate. I saw him while here & have no doubt but that he would be able to support himself if he could get North. He was greatly afflicted with that "disgust" with Texas so common with people who have resided further north -
