Dear Sir,
This is to request you to intercede in behalf of Reason Wallace F.M.C. who has been in my employment from the 15th February last. He is a good trustworthy man who is now in bad health and wishes to return to Washington City to his family. He is in very bad health and unable to maintain himself and is desirous to reach his family has been in very bad health for a long time caused by exposure while in the United States Army. His demeanor since he has been here with me has been good. He is without means. Any action you may take in his behalf will be appreciated. Please forward this with your endorsement to the General Comd'g at Galveston where he has gone that he may hear from this application for transportation. By so
