States that he has been sufficiently punished for the committed by him on the person of Adelaide about July 1865, that about that time it was made known to him that the f.w Adelaide had insulted his wife in the public road, went out to meet her and expostulate with her about her conduct, asked her to get down from her horse, she resisted, had a scuffle, he became more excited, and took her in the back yard and whipped her, he was arrested the military authorities, and taken to Houston, and kept in custody for some time
